Laura Bierman joined the GracePoint Wesleyan staff in the fall of 2014 as the Children's Ministry Assistant. She works side-by-side with Pastor Jessey with the older kids of Kidspoint on Wednesday nights, but specifically, she is the overseer of the preschool aspect of the Children's Ministry on Sunday mornings. She coordinates, organizes, and ministers to the volunteers that serve in that area of the church, leads the weekly preschool worship time for each service, and more than likely, you can find her teaching at least two preschool Sunday School classes each week. She additionally leads chapel services for the afternoon classes of the GracePoint Preschool every Monday and Thursday.
Laura grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, and came to Brookings in the fall of 2007 to begin her college education at SDSU, where she graduated with her degree in Early Childhood Education with a special focus in children birth-8 years, and also received her Kindergarten Endorsement. She married her husband David in 2012. In 2015, their son Cole was born, and they will be welcoming another child into their family in late March 2018. Laura enjoys cooking, singing, creating art, faithfully cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Minnesota Twins, and taking long walks every day as a family with their dog Scout.
Working with children and teaching them about the love of Christ has been a passion of Laura's for as long as she can remember. She feels the value of teaching children early on in their lives to love the Lord and have a personal relationship with Christ is of utmost importance, and she feels honored to be able to love the children of GracePoint and the Brookings community on Christ’s behalf.
